Diane appeared at the World Bank’s 2014 Earth Day Fair to share the Big Green Purse message, while offering a workshop demonstration on upcycling as an important strategy for reducing consumption and empowering consumers.

Sustainable Disaster Recovery Conference

The Sustainable Disaster Recovery Conference at St. Louise University is the premiere conference for city planners, non-profit relief organizations, academic institutions, and government agencies who focus on rebuilding communities that have  been ravaged by tornados, hurricanes, fire, flood, and other natural disaster. Diane was brought in to both report on the conference proceedings to her broad social network but also to contribute her perspective as a green consumer advocate.

Launch Expert Column is the world’s largest online community for questions and answers. Beginning in August, 2013, Diane launched her regular feature column, which both showcases her expertise on sustainability, the environment, pollution, energy, conservation, natural resources and green living and helps readers address their most pressing environmental concerns.

Ford Motor Company Trends Conference

As a green consumer thought leader, Diane was invited to Ford’s “Going Further With Ford” trends conference to contribute her expertise during workshops, keynote presentations and roundtables focusing on the future of the transportation industry, sustainability in the auto industry, and the role of women as drivers of innovation at the workplace as well as at home and in their communities.

ENERGY STAR Social Media Influencer Role

Diane has been as much in demand for online engagements as she has been for speaking at conferences and workshops. At the ENERGY STAR Twitter event designed to engage businesses, government agencies, non-profit organizations and consumers, Diane highlighted the many opportunities for companies and the public at large to embrace energy efficiency and renewable energy technology as keys to combating climate change and  reducing air pollution.


On behalf of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR program, Diane is engaging major social influencers to educate America’s families and youth about the importance of saving energy. As part of that effort, Diane recently moderated a national “blogging carnival” that reached several hundred thousand people across the blogosphere, Twitter, Facebook, Google+, and other social media. Diane also attended the “green carpet” premiere of the Fox Features animated block-buster, EPIC, and a roundtable discussion with the film’s stars to discuss the importance of using Hollywood and animated films to help inspire kids to protect the environment.

U.S. – China Greener Consumption Forum Keynote Address

At the first-ever U.S. – China Greener Consumption Forum, to be held March 22, 2013 at the World Bank, Diane will give the keynote address to a capacity crowd that includes a delegation of women business leaders from across China who are working in energy, environmental protection, consumer outreach and sustainability. Forum attendees will include CEOs and Senior VPs from such organizations and companies as Honest Tea, MOMs Organic Markets, Worldwatch Institute, International Fund for China’s Environment, United Nations Environment Programme, US EPA ENERGY STAR, Green America, and many more.

EPA ENERGY STAR Partners Meeting October 23, 2012

At EPA’s annual ENERGY STAR partners meeting October 23, 2012 in St. Paul, Minnesota, Diane will present her observations on the role that women bloggers can play in educating kids and families about energy conservation. Diane will   summarize her recent efforts to engage “green mom” bloggers in the launch of Team ENERGY STAR, EPA’s initiative focused particularly on youths, and provide insights into opportunities to motivate more consumers to save energy.

Diane will share her story of  inspiration, dedication and vision for a healthier planet at this event designed to showcase the work of  select women eco-entrepreneurs.

Luncheon Keynote Speech to National Association of Environmental Managers/Women’s Leadership Roundtable

Diane will be giving the closing keynote address at the Environmental Women’s Leadership Roundtable July 11, 2012, in Washington, D.C. The National Association for Environmental Management (NAEM) empowers corporate leaders to advance environmental stewardship, create safe and healthy workplaces, and promote global sustainability. As the largest professional community for EHS and sustainability decision-makers, the organization also provides peer-led educational conferences and an active network for sharing solutions to today’s corporate EHS and sustainability management challenges.This unique women’s leadership event will provide strategies for advancing environmental and sustainability inititiatives, while connecting women leaders from the corporate, policy, think-tank and NGO arenas.
